The Package Person

08 Dec

Bongo getting lovesToday was a really good day. It was warm and sunny and I was lounging around in the sunny spot when I heard someone coming to the door.

I recognized the sound. Sometimes I hear her coming to the door when my person’s not home. All I can do is peak out the window (don’t tell my person because I have to get up on the couch to do that – but it’s not my fault it’s in the way) and maybe bark a time or two. Then when my person comes home she finds a package sitting at the door.

But this time my person was home and she opened the door when my friend came up to it. Well, guess what. It seems my person and this package person know each other. They used to hang out together at this place called “work.”

And this package person (my person says she’s our mail carrier) is really cool because she likes to give me loves. Loves and packages.

I wonder what’s in that package she brought me. Maybe treats – or a new squeaky toy.

What, person? What do you mean that package isn’t for me? What do you mean it’s something you ordered for my younger person?

Then I think you’d better get on your computer right now and order me some packages. But make sure the delivery is spread out so I get a new one every day. And make sure you’re home when they come so I get my loves too.

Woo woo! Packages and loves every single day. What more could any dog want?

Me, too! Every time the package person comes, I bark at him and he leaves. I’m very good at my job!

Lola, sometimes it’s good to give those package people a good barking. Especially when the package they’re bringing is not for us.

I always like it when the package person comes. This year the package person delivered them to England so when I go there I shall find lots of packages.

Patreciau, if I went to England would I find packages too? Are you going to get loves with your packages?

I definitely think you’d better get your own package on order. In the mean time, extra loves are always a great thing.

Susan, that’s a great idea. I’ll order my own packages. Now where did my person leave her credit card?

Alex and Penny, that would be so cool – to get packages and loves from you. I would give lots of loves back too.

I’ve got a good package person (his name’s Mr. FedEx & he gives me treats) and a mean package person (Mr. UPS & he grouchy). Diane doesn’t like that guy either because he leaves the packages down by the garage & I forget my numbers but there may have been some times that I ripped the packages open. One time he put a package behind the garage door & Diane ran over it — she was kinda mad that time.

Lola, Mr. FedEx sure sounds better that Mr. UPS. That’s funny though. I have some package people with those same names. I think they’re nice but I don’t get to meet them. They just drop my packages at the front door and run.

Do you jump up & scratch at the door when they come? That kinda makes Diane crazy too. Maybe our Mr’s are the same – wouldn’t that be something because then I could just tell them “bring this to Bongo” & you’d get it cause they know you. I guess it’s not the best idea to chew packages until your person empties the box & actually gives it to you. I didn’t care at all about the purse that ended up on the back lawn, but that box was sure tasty.

Lola, that would be so cool if our package people were the same – except for maybe your Mr. UPS. We could send packages back and forth. My person always puts packages that have good smells inside out of my reach – after I ate some maltballs from under the Christmas tree one year – I only got caught because I forgot to finish off the bag. I don’t usually care about boxes – only tasty stuff inside them.

Packages and loves. That’s all a dog really needs. My package man makes me go mental. He does packages, but no loves. I think he’s afraid of me because I always yell at him. But he doesn’t know, if he ever got close enough I would kiss him.

    Love and licks,

Cupcake, my person says those package people have to be careful because there’s crazy dogs out there. I’m just lucky that she knows my package person so my package person knows I’m safe to give loves to.

We have been waiting for packages too! Some have come, but none of them are for us. Mom promised that she ordered something for us…and our Barkbox should arrive in a week or two…

Guess what? My girl ran into a dig at work, and he looks a lot like you!!! His picture is on our blog, you should stop by and take a look!

Collies, I stopped by and that dog really does look like me. I didn’t know I had a twin. I hope your packages come soon. I’m still waiting for mine, but since we have a big pet store near our house now my person says the package person might not bring any packages for me.

Bongo, now she says ‘cuggle’ as she throws her arms around me or Bella or Beary. I’m sure she’d do the same if she saw you. If you close your eyes you can probably imagine it!

I wish I could have a package person and love….to be honest, we have a package man here but he hasn’t given any love to me….and most of the packages are for humans…*sniff sniff*
Have a lovely Sunday Bongo! 🙂

Thanks Kevin. Most of the packages that come here are for my people too. My person uses the excuse that we now have a great big pet store near our house. I think I’m just lucky with the loves though since my person knows the package person.

It sounds like you’ve got a system for getting packages and loves now… on to the packaging ordering! You’re lucky though our package people don’t really give Boomer and Dottie much attention.

Ginger, I’ll for sure have to ask my mail person for a treat because I think my person is getting ready to give her some treats for Christmas. It’s sure a good thing that your mail person likes collies.

Angels Whisper, I’m so excited. My person says packages should be coming soon from my cousin dogs. Hopefully with lots of dog treats in them. She says I also have to save some cookies for my package person. That part might be hard to do – I seem to eat any food I come in contact with.
