I don’t get it. First my person left me today. But then she came home with a bag that was sending out all kinds of good smells. I was so excited!
But then you know what my person did? She put that bag on top of the refrigerator – the one place that I can’t reach – and said something about having to wait until Christmas.
And then she put this Santa hat on me and made me pose for a picture. Well believe me you – the last thing I want to do is sit around for pictures of anything when there’s something smelling good on top of the refrigerator. I don’t want to wait for Christmas. I want it now!
I’m thinking maybe I can get my person to wrap that good smelling stuff up and put it under the tree. Sometimes people put wrapped presents under the tree before Christmas. Then when she’s not looking…
I’m not sure why my person doesn’t put wrapped presents under the tree before Christmas. Even when my package person brings a whole box full of wrapped presents they get put somewhere out of my reach until Christmas Day. Then the ones that smell the best are put out of my reach again.
Oh, wait. I think I hear my person calling me. Maybe she’s going to give me something from on top of the fridge.
What, person? Santa knows what I’m up to and he won’t bring me any presents if I don’t behave? Not even good smelling things from on top of the fridge?
You mean I have to cooperate and wear this stupid Santa hat in order to get presents? And then I still have to wait until Christmas?
This is totally not fair.

Chancy, I’m telling my person right now that I need some Christmas goodies because you got some. I sure tried not to wear that Santa hat, but my person figured out a way to make it stay on long enough for a picture – and then she put treats in her pocket. That gets me every time. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

That hat is perfect for you, B. You look like Santa’s baby brother. I had to wear a reindeer hooded fleece. My dignity totally is out the window. Plus, Mom was wrapping a gift and it SQUEAKED! I was DYING for her to put it under the tree so I could check it out. Nope. It’s in the closet with the door shut! UGH!

Cupcake, the things we have to put up with at Christmas. But I guess it’s worth it when we get our presents. I hope I get something squeaky too. I love squeaky things.

Thanks Kat n Collies. I think we need to get together and figure out how to get to the top of the fridge. My cat Scratchy can do it – and sometimes he knocks thing off – but he usually won’t go up there because he doesn’t know if he can find a landing spot.

So why do people put silly hats on our heads Bongo? I know we look cute as all get-out but we look cute without them too. We don’t get any presents under our tree before Christmas, none! There might have been an incident where everyone’s presents got unwrapped but I was just checking you know? There’s something about paper ripping that makes my brain all happy & excited.

Bongo, I have almost the same hat, but they haven’t put it on me yet… I won’t allow it, but it looks good on you, Santa dog. You can see it the positive way: every time when you have to wear that stupid hat, you get treats, don’t you? You tell your person, that’s the only way you’ll wear that thing, ok 😀
