I was walking along on my trails and getting really excited because I had almost come up to my puddle – and I love to play in my puddle.
But something had happened. What’s this stuff that’s covering up my puddle? Strange looking white stuff.
It’s cold. And it breaks into little pieces when I step on it.
Somebody stole my puddle and put this breakable stuff here in its place.
I think it’s time to put on my Detective Dog hat.
Maybe I’d better investigate the other puddle. That might give me some clues.
Oh, no. Look at this! There’s strange stuff here too. But it doesn’t look the same as that other stuff.
I’d better take some notes.
What am I talking about? I can’t write. Where’s my secretary?
Hey, check this out.
There’s water under here. I can make notes with this water.
Wait a minute. This is not good.
I went back to get some more note taking material and this stuff on the puddle…
stole my foot!
I need to end this post before I really get into trouble.
Tune in tomorrow for the next exciting adventure!
Detective Dog Finds His Foot!
Hey person, I’m really stuck here. Can you help me out?

Careful Bongo! We have learned the hard way that the crunchy stuff is very slippery!!!
January 17, 2013 at 1:13 pm
Kat N Collies, I don’t get to play slip n slide very often around here. But I did have to watch it on my back stairs the other day.

Can’t wait to read the rest of your adventure!

Patrecia, I still haven’t figured out why that puddle keeps disappearing – and then eventually showing up again. If I could find out where it goes I bet I’d be rich.
January 17, 2013 at 11:21 am
You are such a clever dog. Me and Nellie are most interested in hearing about your invesigations into the disappearance of your puddle.
January 17, 2013 at 1:16 pm
Jasper and Nellie, I’ll be investigating further tomorrow. If I can get my foot back, that is.
January 17, 2013 at 11:39 am
Ohhh…Noooo, whee did your foot go Bongo???
Better find it quickly before your human finds out its missing..

Alex and Penny, it was really tricky but I finally got my very cold foot back. Now to warm it up in the sunny spot.

Loving your new detective hat Bongo – so smart. This is a mystery and I’m glad you decided to stop before the puddle stole more than your foot.
January 17, 2013 at 1:17 pm
Susan, sometimes Detective Dog just has to know when to quit. But I’ll be back to investigate further tomorrow.
January 17, 2013 at 2:18 pm
I’ve got that same stuff up here Bongo…not as much fun as the fluffy snow but I try to get chunks of it to chew on.
January 17, 2013 at 2:25 pm
Lola, you’re right. Chewing on chunks of that stuff is good, but snow to play in is the best.
January 17, 2013 at 2:53 pm
Watch out, detective, before you freeze to pieces 🙂
January 17, 2013 at 6:26 pm
Angels Whisper, I got my foot out, left that puddle, and ran.

January 17, 2013 at 6:27 pm
Benny & Lily, you never know what’s going to happen on my trails. Today I met a guy who was really lost. He wandered all the way from China and was in the bushes near one of my trails.

So many mysteries out there today! Apocalypse?
Love and licks,
January 17, 2013 at 6:28 pm
Cupcake, I think we missed the apocalypse. Maybe that’s why things are so strange. It happened and we’re still here.
January 18, 2013 at 12:24 am
OMD! Those strange puddle tells me how cold it is there!!!! Brrrr…..be careful…it must be slippery!!!
P.S. Mom saw Les Miserable today and she loved it! She said she cried a lot! And the ending is sad but very touching!!! 🙂
January 18, 2013 at 11:26 am
Kevin, it got really cold here for a few days, but it’s warmer now. At least the only cold, white stuff was on my puddles. The ground was frozen hard, but not slippery. Glad your mom enjoyed Les Miserables. My person says it was definitely very touching. Lots of things to ponder.
January 18, 2013 at 5:10 am
Bongo! Ain’t barked to you in ages. Frozen puddles are great fun to jump in and hear the ice crack. Bit cold on the paws though.
January 18, 2013 at 11:34 am
Bones, I did have a lot of fun breaking up all that ice. Thanks for stopping by. I’ve missed you. I’ll have to stop by your way and see what you’ve been up to.
January 18, 2013 at 6:39 am
Ohhhhhhh, I hope those little paws don’t get frost bites!
I’ll be anxiously waiting to hear the rest of the story!
January 18, 2013 at 11:40 am
Marina, my foot warmed up again after I got it out and started walking on normal ground with it. That stuff on top of my puddle was really pesky though.
January 18, 2013 at 7:04 am
bongo my friend, i hope what your stepping in is snow ” OH NO, NOT THERE TOO” calm down pukky, it to shall pass. east coast friend
January 18, 2013 at 11:42 am
Nancy, no I didn’t step in any of that stuff. Just water and cold, hard stuff on top of it. But I did help clean some up the other day when Scratchy got gourmet cat food for dinner and decided after he ate it that he didn’t want it after all.
January 19, 2013 at 11:36 am
What a great case for Detective Dog! I just know he will get to the bottom of the great puddle mystery!
January 19, 2013 at 7:05 pm
Remy, at least I found the bottom of my puddle. Now for the mystery.
January 20, 2013 at 1:25 pm
One of the strange things about that stuff covering the water is Mick breaks it up and eats it!!!!! LOL
January 20, 2013 at 2:58 pm
I broke some of that stuff up too. It was fun, but my feet got cold.
