Who Stole My Puddle?

17 Jan

Bongo investigation iceI was walking along on my trails and getting really excited because I had almost come up to my puddle – and I love to play in my puddle.

But something had happened. What’s this stuff that’s covering up my puddle? Strange looking white stuff.

It’s cold. And it breaks into little pieces when I step on it.

.

.

Bongo stepping on ice

Somebody stole my puddle and put this breakable stuff here in its place.

I think it’s time to put on my Detective Dog hat.

Bongo looking cool with his Detective Dog hat on

Maybe I’d better investigate the other puddle. That might give me some clues.

Bongo on the ice in a puddle

Oh, no. Look at this! There’s strange stuff here too. But it doesn’t look the same as that other stuff.

I’d better take some notes.

What am I talking about? I can’t write. Where’s my secretary?

Hey, check this out.

Bongo breaking through the ice in a puddle

There’s water under here. I can make notes with this water.

Bongo dripping water as he steps out of ice puddle

Wait a minute. This is not good.

I went back to get some more note taking material and this stuff on the puddle…

Bongo's foot stuck in the puddle

stole my foot!

I need to end this post before I really get into trouble.

Tune in tomorrow for the next exciting adventure!

Detective Dog Finds His Foot!

Hey person, I’m really stuck here. Can you help me out?

Kat N Collies, I don’t get to play slip n slide very often around here. But I did have to watch it on my back stairs the other day.

Patrecia, I still haven’t figured out why that puddle keeps disappearing – and then eventually showing up again. If I could find out where it goes I bet I’d be rich.

Alex and Penny, it was really tricky but I finally got my very cold foot back. Now to warm it up in the sunny spot.

Loving your new detective hat Bongo – so smart. This is a mystery and I’m glad you decided to stop before the puddle stole more than your foot.

Susan, sometimes Detective Dog just has to know when to quit. But I’ll be back to investigate further tomorrow.

I’ve got that same stuff up here Bongo…not as much fun as the fluffy snow but I try to get chunks of it to chew on.

Lola, you’re right. Chewing on chunks of that stuff is good, but snow to play in is the best.

Benny & Lily, you never know what’s going to happen on my trails. Today I met a guy who was really lost. He wandered all the way from China and was in the bushes near one of my trails.

Cupcake, I think we missed the apocalypse. Maybe that’s why things are so strange. It happened and we’re still here.

P.S. Mom saw Les Miserable today and she loved it! She said she cried a lot! And the ending is sad but very touching!!! 🙂

Kevin, it got really cold here for a few days, but it’s warmer now. At least the only cold, white stuff was on my puddles. The ground was frozen hard, but not slippery. Glad your mom enjoyed Les Miserables. My person says it was definitely very touching. Lots of things to ponder.

Bongo! Ain’t barked to you in ages. Frozen puddles are great fun to jump in and hear the ice crack. Bit cold on the paws though.

Marina, my foot warmed up again after I got it out and started walking on normal ground with it. That stuff on top of my puddle was really pesky though.

Nancy, no I didn’t step in any of that stuff. Just water and cold, hard stuff on top of it. But I did help clean some up the other day when Scratchy got gourmet cat food for dinner and decided after he ate it that he didn’t want it after all.
