Detective Business is Slow

23 Apr

Bongo looking cool with his Detective Dog hat onI put on my Detective Dog hat, but I’m not really sure if this if a mystery worthy of Detective Dog or not.

But I wanted an excuse to put that hat on again. It’s been awhile. Things have been slow on my trails and I haven’t come across any mysteries that need solving.

I think it’s all those flowers out there. My person gets so busy with her camera taking pictures of them that the mysteries just pass us by and I miss them.

Maybe that’s the mystery I should be solving. How to get rid of those flowers – or how to make my person leave her camera at home.

But no, I’ve got another mystery to work on today.

My person has been so busy lately that she hasn’t put any flowers in our garden. That’s okay by me because the weeds still grow there and some of them make tasty treats.

But somebody must have decided that we still need flowers because they gave us a flower that doesn’t have to be replaced every year.

Out in the rocks that line the culvert in front of our yard a permanent flower appeared.

Silk Fower amongst rocks

A silk flower to decorate the culvert.

So the real mystery is not who left the flower, but why we got a fake flower instead of a real one.

I like to do the watering and this flower doesn’t need any water.

Maybe it has to be fake because you “watered” the real flowers a bit too much?? Who knows, some mysteries may never be solved 😉

Will and Eko, maybe that’s why my person hasn’t planted any real flowers this year. I’ll have to dig into that mystery.

I bet the bees get mad when they see that flower and think they’ve hit the mother load and then realize it is a faux flower!

Blueberry, I sure hope those bees don’t get too mad and take it out on me.

Cupcake, maybe someone put it there because the javelinas come by at night and eat the real flowers.

Bongo, I hesitate to say it, but I’m pretty sure that when you water the flowers, it does more harm than good. Flash waters my wisteria all the time and I think he might have killed it. Yay!

FleaByte, maybe the flowers are getting too much water. If you stop watering them and just let Flash do it maybe they’ll be okay.

Bongo I love the way you wear your deerstalker hat…Have you ever worn it to stalk a deer?

Gizmo, for some reason the deer don’t hang out on my trails – even though we have them in the area. Maybe I could wear my hat to stalk a coyote.

Perhaps a gopher left it for his lady love?

BZ, I hadn’t thought of that but I bet that’s what happened. The gophers have been busy around here lately.

Dalton, my person says I might stain that flower if I water it, but I think I’ll check it out anyway.

I like the fake flower and the colour which looks beautiful!
*whispers* it looks like sea anemone though….giggles* 🙂

Kevin, that would be cool to have sea anemones in my yard. I’ve never seen one, but my person used to live in Seattle so she saw lots of them on the beaches near where she lived.

Bongo, I think you have to water it. It’s a mysterie how the flower came there, so maybe it will start living too after the watering 🙂
