Fitting the Clues Together

19 Jun

Bongo sniffing branches on the groundWhat is this? What are all these branches doing on the ground? I’d better check this out.

I’ve had so many mysteries on my trails lately. It’s been keeping Detective Dog busy.

Speaking of Detective Dog, I’d better get my hat on.

.

.

.

There, that’s better. Now I can delve into this mystery.

Wait a minute! There’s a tree right here that’s missing a bunch of branches.

Tree with missing branches

I wonder if – I wonder if…

No, it’s not possible.

Could all of these branches have fallen off of this tree?

No, when I look closer I see that there’s been some hacking going on.

Somebody hacked these branches off this tree.

I wonder who it could be.

Look here! Is this another clue?

This hacked tree is right next to the prickly pear cactus that I found damaged awhile back.

And over there is the other tree that lost its branches.

Damaged trees and damaged prickly pear cactus

I just realized where we are.

Right over there is the place where the Litter Bugs hang out.

Damaged tree in front of a clearing

This will make my job really easy.

All I have to do is find those Litter Bugs.

I bet they’ll be able to tell me who damaged this tree.

You are a very organized detective dog, Bongo. You even have informants!!!!
I wonder too and hope you tell us when you solve it!
    🙂

Marina, I’m still trying to round up those Litter Bugs. Maybe I can get them to tell me who the culprit is if I promise to make the culprit pick up their litter.

I think there might have been a very serious argument among those trees and the pear cactus, leading to a physical conflict.

Kolytyi, I’m sure glad I wasn’t there when that happened. I can just imagine the trees throwing pine cones and the cactus spitting back pricklers.

I wonder if there’s a can on bug repellant that works on litter bugs?

BZ, it probably needs to be an extra big can. I may have to check that out.

Kevin, I’m patrolling my trails every day – well, except for yesterday. My person didn’t get home until almost dark. Yikes! I’d better get out there and make sure nothing happened while I was gone.

Remy, I’ll have to try going after those litter bugs next time I see them. I bet they would be fun to chase.

Little Binky, I hadn’t thought of that. There might be even more naked bugs on my trails.

Great work! Once you catch those litter bugs you can turn them over to those ppl who bake bugs and cover them with chocolate…. that will teach them!

Ginger, I bet chocolate covered litter bugs would taste pretty good. I hope my person will let me eat the chocolate.
