Purple Droppings

29 Jul

Bongo sniffing plums on the groundThis is really strange.

It’s happening in the very same spot.

But the color has changed.

This might take some investigation.

I haven’t even made it to my trails yet. I’m just a few feet from my front door.

I’m going to run back home for my Detective Dog hat.

.

Detective Dog

Awhile back, way last May I think it was, I was walking to my trails and I hadn’t even made it yet when I found all these strange green things all over the ground.

I was lucky I wasn’t hit by any of them as they fell. But there they were. All over the place.

I never did solve that mystery to my satisfaction (I know, dogs like me shouldn’t be using such big words but I’ve been blogging for a long time now and it seems to be affecting my brain.). I’m still working on that investigation.

So now, I’m walking by that very same spot where I found all those green things so long ago.

And in that very same spot I find purple things all over the ground.

I’m pretty sure a flock of pesky birds dropped those green things. I think they may have been out to get a neighborhood cat – or worse yet, one of my dog buddies who walks by here.

So now I’ve got to figure out what those birds are up to.

Did they drop those purple things too?

Maybe those green things were too small, or too easy to spot.

So those birds found something bigger that blends in better.

At least I don’t think I have to worry about this anymore.

With all the wind we’ve been having I think it shook those birds out of the trees around here.

Good riddance birds.

Take your purple things with you and don’t come back.

Wow! Exactly how big are those birds? Maybe for once you should consider wearing a helmet instead of the investigator hat…
    🙂 Happy Monday!!

Marina, that’s a good idea. I think I’ll send my person to the store to get me a helmet.

Thanks Patrecia. You solved the mystery for me. I think this is the first year that tree has had any plums, and now they’re all over the ground.

If they’re grapes, don’t eat them. Mom says, “No grapes allowed for dogs.” I think those litter-birds have a lesson to learn.

Cupcake, my person found that out too, that we can’t eat grapes. She says these are plums though – but I still didn’t eat any.

Hmmm, quite puzzling…have you figured out if they’re foodables things yet Bongo…that’s always my first question “Can I eat this?”

Gizmo, my person says these are plums that the birds tossed down. I haven’t tried eating them yet – but then I only try eating a few things that I find outside. But almost everything I can get hold of in the house.

Brown Dawgs, I think I was really lucky one of those things didn’t fall on my head. I’ve sure got to be careful sometimes.

Benny and Lily, there were even bites taken out of those things. Maybe the birds didn’t like the taste and that’s why they threw them.

Hmmmm….those purple things look like grapes…do they smell something? Do you think that we, dogs can eat them? *drools*

    • Bongo

      July 30, 2013 at 12:33 pm

Kevin, it’s a good thing those purple things aren’t grapes because my person says grapes are bad for dogs. I think they’re plums – but where those birds found all those plums to drop is beyond me. There aren’t any plums left in the tree there.

Those purple things are a sign that they visited your area, Bongo. Nice sleuthing.

Randwick & Maroubra, at least the birds are gone now. I wonder why they didn’t take those purple things with them.

What a mess the birds make, Bongo. I think you better call for the litter boys.. I mean box.. 🙂

Little Binky, do you think birds would respect a litter box? I think I’m going to send Scratchy out after them.

Are those purple thingies edible? Perhaps your person could make something yummy from them.

    • Bongo

      August 4, 2013 at 12:39 pm

Kolytyi, I think those purple things are plums. But the birds must have taken bites out of them before they tossed them on the ground. They all looked chewed on.

Ginger, we have birds that drop white spots too. My younger person is always getting upset because when he’s here his parking spot is next to a tree and those white spots are always showing up on his car.
