Blocked Trail

27 Aug

Bongo and a downed century plantWhat is going on here?

Somebody is trying to put a roadblock across my trails.

I hope they understand that these are my trails and nobody is allowed to block them up.

What is this thing, anyway?

.

.

Century plant laying across the trail

Oh, now I see.

What we have here is a mischievous century plant.

A century plant that decided to lay down on the job.

Well, century plant – I don’t care if you do want to drop your seed pods all in one spot.

And I don’t care if you’re tired of standing and want to lie down.

Don’t do it across my trails!

There’s plenty of room if you just lie down heading the other way – and you won’t be blocking anybody’s path.

Bongo's path blocked by the downed century plant

This century plant is so stubborn. It’s not listening to me at all.

What am I going to do?

Bongo's leash wrapped around the century plant as he goes under it

I guess going under this thing will work as well as anything.

Bongo, watch out for your person. She may not know how to crawl under that century tree!
There must be a conspiracy though. One day you get thunder and now this?!!! 🙂

Marina, I think the thunder and that downed century plant are related. I’m sure the thunder knocked that plant down – but my person says it was probably the rain that came with the thunder that did it. Either way, the thunder had something to do with it.

Benny & Lily, I agree, it would have been nice to have some warning signs before I got to the trail blockage.

Looks like you’re getting a little tangled up. If you go under, your person will have to do the limbo to get under there with you! I’d like to see that picture!!

Cupcake, I think I’ll work on that. I’m sure I could find a friendly person on my trails to take that picture of my person doing the limbo.

Maybe the plant was too tired to think about which way it was going…or surprised that it was going anywhere. Be careful you don’t get your person all tangled up in her leash.

Patricia, those plants hardly ever fall over like that, so I guess this one was confused.

Dalton, I’ve dragged some pretty big sticks. Maybe I should try to break my record with this one.

Kevin, they don’t very often fall like that, but we found it after a big rain, so the rain might have caused it. But it could have been mischief makers on my trails too.

Bongo, maybe the plant wants you and your person to dance the limbo…Anyway, it must have fell down like that for a reason… 🙂

Little Binky, I like to roll on my back sometimes. Now I just have to figure out how to move under that thing when I’m in that position.
