Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day

11 Jan

Bongo splashing the waterDo you know what today is?

It’s one of my favorite days.

Well, it’s going to be one of my favorite days. I didn’t know about this holiday last year.

Today is Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day.

I was really looking forward to splashing…

.

.

Bongo Getting One More Swim

Or maybe even swimming and splashing.

As long as I could get my people all wet.

But here’s what happened.

I went to my favorite puddle…

Bongo at the place where a puddle used to be

And it was gone!

Without my puddle how could I celebrate this special holiday?

So I talked my people into taking me on a new trail.

Bongo and his younger person on a trail

One that I’ve never been on before.

And I heard that it ended up at a creek.

So we wandered around and up and down and finally we ended up…

Bongo standing at the top of the world

At the top of the world!

I sat there with my younger person…

Bongo and his younger person looking at the view

And it didn’t seem like he was going to move.

Bongo and younger person sitting and looking at the view

I’ve got to figure something out – because now I know where the puddle is.

Bongo getting restless

And I’m going to find a way to get there.

Bongo looking the other way

Over there looks like a good place to start.

Bongo heading down the cliff

Yup, this way’s going to get me there.

Bongo part way down the cliff

Hey guys, this is the right way. Come on down here!

Bongo being made to climb back up

What do you mean, I’ve got to climb back up?

Bongo back on top

You’re missing the whole point.

I haven’t splashed in a puddle yet.

When are my people ever going to learn?

Patrecia, I might have to make my own puddle and splash them.

We have never heard of this! Sadly, it’s too cold here to consider getting wet!

Collies, I think I’m in one of the few places (at least in the States) that isn’t too cold. But we don’t have any rain to make puddles.

    Interesting holiday!
No puddles up here, but perhaps we could aim for a snowbank?

Jen, that would work. Just spray snow on everybody.

Don’t ya hate it when you are trying to celebrate and nobody else gets it!? I didn’t know about this day, but it has been raining since I woke up today, so I celebrated like crazy with puddles of water and puddles of MUD.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

Cupcake, you are so lucky. You got to celebrate a holiday that you didn’t even know about. We don’t have any puddles here right now.

Your people are on to you Bongo, deliberately leading you away from the puddles lol Thats not fair on you – try pulling harder to redirect them next time. But that was a wonderful new view for you all

Susan, my people always seem to be trying to redirect me. I’m just going to have to train them better.

You are so patient with them, we may have to start calling you Saint Bongo!

Thanks Dalton. A new name. It really does take a saint to put up with my people sometimes.

I wish I had puddles here Bongo but right now my puddles are rock solid. I can chew them a little & that’s fun but there’s no splashing. Can I come play in your puddles until about June?

Lola, I don’t have any puddles either – solid or not. We haven’t had any rain lately. But you can come and play with me anyway.

I’m sure you’re a great splasher! I hope you find the opportunity to catch up on this holiday later in the year!

Delft, if we ever get any puddles back on my trails I’ll be sure to make up for missed splashes.

The huge puddle you were thinking of at the beginning looked like a lot of fun, we’re sorry your person did not take you there. Sitting on top of the world looked like a neat place to stop to watch everything:)

Lexie and Mica, it was a neat place but I so wanted to go down to the creek big puddle.

OMC splashing without a puddle and not allowed to go swimming…that must have felt very lonely, Bongo, but at least it delivered great pictures and view. Extra Pawkiss for the dissappointment 🙂

Thanks Little Binky. I think I’m going to have to drag my people to that swimming hole for sure. It’s been warm enough here for swimming.

Oh…how disappointing Bongo……I’m so sorry that you couldn’t step in a puddle….but the scenery from the top is so beautiful!

Thanks Kevin. I guess I’ll have to celebrate this day late. I’m still waiting for my puddle to come back.
