What Did I do with My Summer Vacation?

16 Aug

Bongo on the trail with flowersThis is ridiculous! My last post right before this one has snow in it.

Right now it’s so hot that if snow showed up it would sizzle away.

So I’m sneaking on the computer while my person isn’t looking and writing a new post.

Besides, today is my blogiversary.

Four years of blogging.

Well, it would have been four years if I’d actually been blogging the last few months.

So, since I haven’t posted since the snow was on the ground, and the kids who live near me are already back in school I thought I’d do a “What did I do with my Summer Vacation” kind of post.

Oh. What did I do?

Oh yeah. I got to hang out some with my little buddy.

Bongo and his buddy in dog jail

It wasn’t me. It’s his fault we’re in jail.

***

And my puddle came back!

And the tadpoles came with it.

Puddle with tadpoles

I’ve been watching those tadpoles grow for awhile, but for some reason my person won’t let me get in the puddle with them. No fair!

Oh yeah, and there were those two times in the dog hotel when my person went off without me.

Bongo in a jeep

But the best time I had all summer was when my person’s friend invited her to go to the creek with her – and then she invited me along too.

Bongo swimming in a creek

Bongo and a friend in the creek

Bongo and a log at the creek

There was only one problem.

Next time we need to go to a creek that has smaller sticks.

The creek is awesome, except you have to travel a lot of miles down a dirt road to get there. Now if I could only move it to my backyard.

Hi Patrecia – I guess I’m going to have to sneak on my blog every time my person isn’t looking. First I need to get my person’s friend to invite me swimming again. My person said I might not be invited again. I don’t know why. Hugs and slobbery kisses to you.

You look GREAT swimming in that creek, B. That looks like the perfect place to be in the summer. …except for the stick situation.

Cupcake, swimming is my favorite thing to do in the summer. And I really love fetching sticks in the water – the bigger, the better.

She said: “woof – woof, woooof woooooof, woof” but I’m not very good at dogish. I know she was very happy though! She’s a tough cookie so we hope she’ll overcome this.

Bongo so glad to see you we have had a rainy summer mostly in the high 70’s, low 80’s. What cute tadpols, we have those everywhere in our creek but we get in anyway (nobody even sees them but Mom). What a beautiful creek you went to and you are a great swimmer. Hope you get to go back soon;)

    • Bongo

      August 20, 2015 at 8:48 pm

Mica and Aspen, I could use some of your rain – as long as the thunder doesn’t show up with it. We did get enough for my puddle to hang around long enough for the tadpoles to turn into toadies. The last couple days there have been teeny tiny toadies hopping around near my puddle.

I know how it is Bongo – most of my posts showed 10 foot icicles…boy, wish they were back again because I don’t like this heat very much. My person was so busy with wedding stuff that I didn’t get to help with that we didn’t do much posting either BUT…we’re also 4 years of posting too.

At least you got to got to a nice creek for a swim. I went early in the summer but rolled in something nasty and Diane won’t take me back there again. Even my groomer who loves me didn’t live me as much the day I had to go in and get the nasty off me.

    Love ya, Lola

      September 12, 2015 at 10:42 am

Lola, I wish I could find some nasty stuff to roll in. I bet it was great. And I wish that creek wasn’t so far away from my house. At least my puddle hung out most of the summer. It’s really great now that the tadpoles turned to toadies and left, but it’s shrinking fast. The weather is starting to cool – what’s better, a puddle and heat or no puddle and not so hot. Hard to decide.

Oh Bongo, this was not a good nasty stuff at all – even I thought it was a bad idea on the ride home…Love ya, Lola
