Creative Message

Pee pattern in the streetCheck this out.

As I headed to my trails today I decided to do something different.

I left my message on the street so everybody could read it.

Even those people who can’t smell very well can see it.

So they can read my message too.

Well, I guess they have to know the alphabet I used.

It’s pretty clever, don’t you think?

I’m not sure what I should call it.

Dogan?

Or maybe Dogabic?

I guess I’d better figure out soon what to name it.

Otherwise people won’t know what language to study so they can read my message.

I’ll have to think about it while I go on my walk.

***

Now that I’m almost done with my walk I can’t wait to see if anyone replied to my message.

Even if I haven’t named it yet there are probably some people who can read it.

And I know all my dog friends can.

Hey wait!

What happened?

Where did it go?

Bongo looking down the road

Somebody stole my message!

Short Stacks

Bongo and a bunch of rocksA long time ago some strange rock piles appeared where the boys used to hang out near my trails.

Those rock piles stayed in that spot for a very long time.

And more and more rock piles showed up there.

There were so many that I don’t think anybody could walk around there anymore.

I was going to check it out but my person wouldn’t let me.

She said those rock piles were taller than me and a rock might fall on my head.

I’m not sure why she was worried.

She says I have a hard head.

I think it was just her excuse to keep me away from there.

***

But today, as I walked by that spot things were different.

The rock piles had shrunk – and some had gone away completely.

Bongo sniffing the rocks

Guess I’d better check for clues.

I’ve got to know what happened around here.

***

This is bad.

This is really bad.

There are so many mixed messages around here that I’ll never sort it all out.

Bongo leaving a message on some rocks

Guess I’ll just leave one of my own.

My New Friend

Girl with a painted faceI got a new friend today.

My person must have been feeling guilty about not taking me to play with all those kids at Vacation Bible School…

…because she brought me a new friend.

It’s not every day that I get a new friend, so I was really excited when she showed up.

But I got kind of worried.

She might run out of room on her face for painting and try to paint mine.

.

.

.

So I decided to take her for a walk.

Bongo sniffing a tree with a girl standing next to him

She started out to be a great walker.

Waiting patiently while I checked my messages.

Bongo sniffing while the girl is pulling on his leash

Well, I thought she was waiting patiently.

Come on, new friend.

I’m not finished checking my messages yet.

Bongo refusing to budge

This is really bad.

My person must have given my new friend lessons.

She’s yanking on my leash just like my person does.

I’d better explain to her what a disaster it could be if I miss an important message.

Bongo and the girl walking down the trail

Wait a minute, new friend.

You don’t get it.

I’ve got to go back.

Does anybody know where there’s a training class to teach people how to walk their dogs?

Messed up Message

Bike in Bike RackI was heading back from my trails today and getting ready to check for  messages on my message board, and leave a new message for my trail dog friends when I noticed something.

Somebody had left their bike in my message board. I’m not sure why they would do such a thing. I mean, what would happen if a message was left and part of it got on that bike?

When that bike was taken away again, part of the message would be gone. How can you read part of a message? You might not get all the information – or even worse yet, you may think you have all the information and get the wrong message altogether.

What if one of my trail dog friends gets mad at me because he misunderstood my message? All because part of it was missing.

Or what if I miss meeting up with one of my friends because I missed part of a message and turned down the wrong trail? And then maybe my friend would be mad at me because I didn’t show up.

This is serious. I’ve got to do something before all of my trail dog friends get mad at me.

Obviously that person with the bike doesn’t read. I guess I’d better leave a message with those funny symbols that people seem to understand.
