My person is definitely the mischief maker today. You see, I had the perfect leash. Well, perfect would have been walking without a leash, but if I’ve got to walk my person with a leash, this one was the best. When my person tried to keep me from going out further on that leash, it didn’t work. That leash was definitely on my side. I could go get loves from people my person tried to keep me away from, and meet up with dogs I didn’t know yet. I mean, how am I going to add to my list of girlfriends if I don’t get a chance to meet any? But now, I have a new leash. . .
Come on person, ease up! I’ve got places to go, smells to sniff, and people and dogs to meet.
Can you give me a little more slack? You’re cramping my style, person.
This is not good at all. That dog – you see that dog way over there? Well that dog came right up near me, and if I’d had the old leash attached to my person I would have been able to get to that dog and give him what for. He pretends he’s being friendly, but I know what he’s really thinking.
Wait a minute. It was because of that dog that I got my old leash working just right. I guess I’d better be nice to him next time he comes over.
Hey person, you’ve got to let me go. I’ve got to go tell that dog we’re buddies now.
I think the power of this new leash has gone to my person’s head.
She is such a mischief maker.

Bongo – it could only be a 2 Ft. leash – Egads! I understand your trouble, though. Silverwalk’s new dog, Halle, wants to meet everyone – she’ll even climb a chain link fence! So, she gets walked in the yard on a 15 Ft. lead and on the road/path with a 6 Ft. leash. Not as good as your old one, though – from her perspective.

Roberta, I get to run free in my yard, but my person will never let me stay out there alone. For some reason she doesn’t like it when I jump the six foot fence. I’m not sure what her problem is. I always come home eventually.

One way to fix that is find the leash when your human is not watching and chew it till it falls apart! Then back to the old leash…. agh ppl dont know how to use power….

Kevin, my person likes the changeable length leash because some parts of my trails are too narrow for me to walk next to her. But that dog and I didn’t get along well the last time he came over to say hi, so our people wouldn’t let us get that close this time – but we tried.

Bongo, we have a leash like that for walking too. If no one is coming Dad lets us have more so we can walk around and sniff but he shortens it on us if there are other dogs and people 😦

Lexie and Mica, that’s what my person does. Lengthens and shortens the leash, but the old leash wouldn’t stay short. It was pretty cool, but my person had to go and replace it.

Heh, Bongo let me clue you in on that leash…I used to have one & at the very end was just this thin cord that winds up. Well, you keep pulling on that & before you know it you can bust that cord & be a free man…of course I might put a little more weight on leashes, but I bet you can work this out…Lola

Lola, I have managed to bust a cord so it wouldn’t go back in at all. Usually if I try to bust the cord off, I pull my person onto the ground instead. Then she calls me a Pita dog.
