Check this out, person. What are these? They look kind of like large marshmallows.
I’m not supposed to eat these marshmallows? I bet they taste good. We could put them in s’mores.
I’ve never seen marshmallows like these on my trails before. I wonder where they came from.
They’re what? Mushrooms! We don’t have mushrooms in Arizona. It’s too dry here. I’ve never seen mushrooms on my trails before. Someone must have left these here. They weren’t here yesterday. I’d better go find that person and see if they want their mushrooms back. They’d probably be really happy with me if I helped them find their mushrooms.
You think they grew here, person? Come on. Arizona has a dry heat. I don’t think mushrooms grow in dry heat.
What kind of weather have we had lately? We’ve had that terrible, scary thunder and lots of rain.
Oh.
Do you think the rain made those mushrooms grow?
There’s just one thing I want to know then.
If rain can make the mushrooms grow here, do you think it could make marshmallows grow too?

Dogdaz, I think marshmallows would taste much better, but my person won’t let me eat either one.

We do rice cakes instead of marshmallows so we understand – Mom said the mallows were not good for us, and we really like the rice things. – Lulu

Lulu, I could really go for some of those rice thingys too.

Oh, dear… I don’t know but you can sure ask your person to grow some marshmallows for you!!!! As for those mushrooms, some are supposed to be poisonous so better leave them in peace!

Marina, my person told me not to eat those mushrooms and I didn’t, but she won’t give me any marshmallows either.

Those are funny looking mushrooms!
Bongo
August 8, 2012 at 4:00 pm
Jen, they are kind of strange looking, but my person says she thinks the brown on them is actually dirt that didn’t come off when they popped out of the ground.

Yashikibuta, I guess I’ll stick to marshmallows then. Now if I can just convince my person to give me some.

Yep, sweet Bongo we do believe you have come upon some shrooms. We are glad you didn’t eat them. Now we don’t know if the rain could cause marshmallows to grow or not…but that sounds like a great idea to us. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, I think I’ll go plant some marshmallows right now and see if any marshmallow plants come up.

Around here there are all sorts of mutant, freaky mushrooms, lately. Mom won’t let me eat them either. if only thunder would bring marshmallows, it would almost be worth it!

Cupcake, I can’t think of anything good about thunder, but I guess if it brought marshmallows there would at least be one thing to look forward to.

Never eat anything your person tells you not to–that’s why furry four legged family members have people–to keep you safe and healthy. But I do think a marshmallow now and then would be ok.

Sure. But you know when I do it will be just to give you one every once in a while not every day.

Oh how I agree with Patricia…I was going to say the same thing..never ever eat anything that you find on your trail..it could be very bad for your tum, and then you might be very ill….so it’s a BIG NO NO!

Wow! Mushrooms where you live! We didnt know they grew there either. Ginger says to tell scratchy they grow in cat food so you had better offer to taste test scratchy’s food to be safe… heheheh

Ginger, I taste test Scratchy’s food every chance I get, but sometimes Scratchy eats some of it before I get a chance. Do they make cat food with marshmallows in it?

I love Mushrooms!!!!! but they might be dangerous to taste Bongo……I always wonder how humans can tell which Mushrooms are edible and which are not when they find new types of Mushrooms…..????
Bongo
August 9, 2012 at 10:21 am
Kevin, maybe they let a cat do the taste test on the new mushrooms. At least that’s what I would do. Oh oh, my person is shaking her head at me right now. I don’t think she likes that idea.

It mush have been raining a lit there we’ve never see mushrooms in arizona either. Mom always tells us not to eat those mushroom things. They don’t look very good so we always listen. Mom tried to let us taste a marshmallow once when she was roasting them but we didn’t like them. Maybe a different treat would be better;)

Lexie and Mica, we had a lot of rain before those mushrooms came up. They didn’t smell very good though so I didn’t even care when my person told me not to eat them. Dog treats are much better anyway.

Hey Bongo, Jet here.
Dude, the same thing happens to us here… those funny mushroom thingies grow in the grass. Mom won’t let us eat them either. Hang on, I’m going to ask Mom, wearing her Kitchen Counselor hat, if marshmallows can grow near your mushrooms.
MMOOMMM… Bongo wants to know if marshmallows can grow near his mushrooms? What? Marshmallow must come from a store? Made by humans? Really? Well, fine then.
Dude, no luck… gotta have your person purchase them for you… and, to make matters worse, she does not think they are K9 safe. hmpf.

Hey Jet, I think our humans are conspiring against us because my person told me I can’t have marshmallows for the same reason. What’s a dog to do?
