I’ve got a real mystery on my hands paws.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I’m going to have to put my Detective Dog hat on for sure.
There. I feel better already.
Oh yeah. I guess I’d better tell you what this mystery is all about.
About a week ago I told you about my puddle invasion.
My puddle had appeared after missing for weeks, but then I discovered it had been invaded by tadpoles.
Then both the puddle and the tadpoles disappeared, but when the puddle came back it left the tadpoles somewhere else.
For a few days now my puddle has been sticking around – just like usual. No tadpoles – just a puddle.
Last night we had a thunderstorm. It was really horrible, waking up in the middle of the night to all that thunder.
I wish it would leave me alone.
But I think tadpoles must like thunder.
Because today when I went out on my trails, not only had my puddle grown –
but when I stuck my feet into it …
I felt these tickly things bumping into me.
The tadpoles had returned.
And now it’s up to Detective Dog to figure out what those tadpoles are up to.
And what they intend to do with my puddle.

I wonder too, Bongo! I hope you will enlighten us on this.
They look creepy…

Marina, my person says if they last long enough they’ll turn into toads and hop away. I think I’d better head out there again and check on those baby toads.

Bacon, I’m just hoping they don’t try to swim off with my puddle again. I’m going to have to be out there a lot checking things out.

Oh, my sweet Bongo it is a good thing you put on your detective hat. That issue needs to be solved…those tadpoles are multiplying fast and trying to take over your puddle. Good luck sweet buddy! Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, I don’t know what those tadpoles are up to, but I’m keeping my eye on them for sure.

Stately Hound, a pipe came with my hat, but you’re right – I’m missing a monocle. I think I’ll have to investigate this. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Haha! Guess what, I had a dream about FROGS last night… 🙂

I might be wishing I only had dreams about them soon. I checked on those tadpoles this morning and they’re getting bigger.

You always find the answer once you put your hat on Bongo…I know you’ll be solving the Mystery of the Reappearing Tadpoles very soon

Gizmo, I’m going to have to keep checking on those tadpoles to make sure they don’t take off with my puddle. I’m still not sure where they went when they disappeared, and why they came back though.

GAH! It’s been raining tadpoles! Freaky!

Cupcake, it really is strange. What’s even stranger is how those tadpoles all rained into the puddle. I didn’t see any tadpoles flopping around on dry ground.

Your own pet tadpoles! How dare they be in your puddle

Benny & Lily, I’d bring some of those tadpoles home and keep them as pets, but my person says we already have one pet frog that’s been around even longer than I have and she doesn’t want any more.

Yikes, Bongo… they look big… next time they might be sitting around your puddle and jump on you….

Little Binky, I just checked on those tadpoles again this morning. They’re getting even bigger, but I don’t have to worry yet. None of them have sprouted any legs – although a couple of the biggest ones look like they’re getting ready to.

Tadpoles, how cool is that? Just last night we found a toad in our backyard but wow, you hit the motherload in your puddle!

July 27, 2013 at 5:05 pm
Emily, I can’t wait to see little toads hopping all over the place. My person says she used to have lots of toads at another house a few miles from here, but we’ve never seen any around here anywhere, although my person found out that some desert toads hide in holes during the day and only come out at night.

*gasps* OMD! How they came back??? I wonder if thunder brought them in the puddle? Thunder might be very helpful for tadpoles? Yes…very mysterious…..I hope you’ll find out why they’re back, Bongo! 🙂

Kevin, I’m still investigating those tadpoles. In the meantime they’re getting bigger. They don’t like it much when I get into my puddle with them.

Kolytyi, now I guess you understand why I’m so afraid of thunder. You never know what’s going to come out of it.

Ginger, I guess if I scooped up a few at a time it would be worth it. One of them alone is so little it would probably just get stuck in my teeth.
