Famous Gizmo

Bongo digging inWe had a horrendous thunder storm today so I wouldn’t couldn’t go on my walk.

I think my person was too scared of the thunder so I didn’t want to take a chance and take her.

I thought I would be nice to her and keep her safe at home.

So to pass the time I started looking at a magazine.

National Geographic.

And I learned something I never knew before.

Gizmo is famous.

He not only has his picture on my blog, but he has a full page in National Geographic.

Don’t tell him that I’m a little bit jealous.

If he knew that I’d never hear the end of it.

What to do with Cats

Scratchy on top of a cat cageSomething happened while I was at the dog hotel.

The cats I live with took over my blog.

Do you believe it?

Cats on my blog!

And they tried to keep it a secret.

But one of my blogging buddies spilled the beans.

So I had to do something.

And I did.

I sent Scratchy to the vet.

Scratchy hates the vet.

And they must not like him either.

When I go to the vet I get treats and loves.

Scratchy doesn’t get any treats or loves.

It was the perfect punishment for Scratchy.

But now I’ve got to figure out what to do about Gizmo.

Taking Over

Bongo on his trail refusing to budgeThis is Gizmo.

You see, Bongo is out on his trails somewhere refusing to budge because of the thunder.

So I think it’s going to be a long time before he finally comes home.

I figured I’d better write this blog post for him so he doesn’t go a day without a post.

I’m sure he’ll thank me for it.

I’m not sure what he’s got against thunder anyway.

Yeah, it’s nice and cozy here inside the house.

He does that, you know. He doesn’t seem to care what or who is in his way.

I’ll just take advantage of Bongo’s fear of moving along on his trail.

Eat Beans Day

Bongo with a can of beansToday is Eat Beans Day.

I was so excited when I heard that.

I mean, any holiday that has to do with food is okay by me.

I got out my can of beans and was ready to go when my person had to spoil the fun.

She reminded me of the last time I celebrated Eat Beans Day.

It wasn’t even on the right day so it shouldn’t count.

But I suddenly didn’t have an appetite for beans anymore.

I didn’t do it person. Honest, I swear. Scratchy did it. Look, he’s standing right over there. I just saw it and thought it was pretty. You know how much he likes to go counter surfing.

What do you mean, most of the beans are missing? I don’t know what happened to them. Did you check under the furniture? Maybe Scratchy ate them.

I bet he could. I bet Scratchy could eat that many beans if he really put his mind to it. Can we go for a walk now? I really feel like I need to go for a walk.

Aaaahhhhh! That feels much better. Relief!

What!? You found the missing beans? Oh no!

Brushed

Gizmo waiting to be brushedGizmo, the cat that lives at my house now, is always up to some kind of mischief.

Sometimes I even get a little jealous because he comes up with things that I never thought of.

Like his latest form of mischief.

The way he’s managed to get extra love and attention.

Gizmo is always laying on his back in strange ways.

That’s not mischief in itself, but it is weird.

It’s what happened because Gizmo was lying on his back where the mischief comes in.

Gizmo got knots in the fur on his back.

Some people might feel sorry for Gizmo having knots in his fur but I think he did it on purpose.

I think he did it so he could get extra loves and attention.

Because Gizmo likes to get brushed.

And Gizmo conned my younger person into brushing him until those knots were all gone.

Bookworm Free Zone

Bongo with pad, pen, and glasses - ready to writeI’ve heard of bookworms.

But I’ve never seen any around my house.

The books my person has are all worm free.

So I guess Gizmo – the cat that moved in here recently – figures it’s a free for all.

He’s got no competition from worms.

Abnormal

He Said

Gizmo and Scratchy on the back of the couchThere’s something not fair around here.

Totally not fair.

Those cats I live with are always allowed on the furniture.

Anytime and anywhere.

But if I try to get on the furniture – the nice, comfy furniture – I get yelled at and told to get down.

Is that unfair, or what?

Sometimes I sneak onto the furniture when my person isn’t looking.

But the problem is that the furniture is so comfy that I don’t always wake up when my person comes near.

It’s really embarrassing when I get kicked off the furniture and the cats get to stay.

I feel like a second class citizen around here.

And we all know that dogs rule over cats.

We all know that, right?

I didn’t hear you.

Well, never mind.

Because I figured out a way to get past the problem.

I found myself an ally.
