Detective Dog

It came! It finally came! My Detective Dog hat. All this time I’ve been doing investigations and I had no hat to wear.

And it looks like I have an investigation already. I’ve got to find my hat. It was here and now it’s missing. I don’t see it anywhere.

As a matter of fact, I don’t see anything.

This could be serious. What could have happened?

Oh, there it is!

And now I can see the carpet and everything else too.

I really am a good Detective Dog. I solved that mystery quickly. I bet no one else could have done it that fast.

I’d better get my hat back on and wait for the next mystery to arrive.

What do you think? Suave and debonair enough for you? Aren’t you just ready to hire me to solve your next case? No one could turn me down.

Hey girls, come on over and let Detective Dog solve your case for you. And afterwards we can have a few treats and go for a romp on my trails.

Trash Trooper

Today my person grabbed some plastic bags as we headed out to my trails. Not those skimpy little doggie bags. These were grocery bags.

I wasn’t sure what she was thinking, and since she had her hands full I made sure I got tangled in my leash a lot.

It wasn’t until we got nearly to the end of our walk that I realized what she was doing with those bags. And it was time for me to get to work. I hope she brought my Detective Dog hat along – because somebody has been hanging out in my wash and leaving their litter behind.

Time for me to start investigating.

I even found trash way in the bushes.

I bet this bush will talk.

While I was busy investigating my person picked the trash up. I was ready to head home to sort out the clues.

What do you mean, I’m supposed to carry this?

But I’m Detective Dog. I’ve got clues to sort out. There must be someone else.

Strange Raindrops

It rained today – really, really hard. It made awful sounds on my roof. I didn’t like it at all.

When the rain finally stopped I took my person out for a walk. There was lots of water on my trails, but I expected to see that.

What I didn’t expect to see was that thing in the picture. It’s small. So small that my person couldn’t even get her camera to focus on it. But what is it?

I think it’s some strange new kind of raindrop. It doesn’t soak into the ground, and it doesn’t even melt like hail. I’m going to have to investigate this. Raindrops like this could explain why there was so much noise on my roof.

I walked along my trails and I didn’t see any more of those strange raindrops. But since I heard all that pounding on my roof I bet I could find some in my yard.

I got home, and sure enough – look what I found.

A white one – but it looked just like the other one.

About this time something started clicking in my memory. I remember I used to see those – all over my house. I haven’t seen any lately, but I think I’ll put my Detective Dog hat on and see what I can find.

Woo woo! I had to move some file boxes, but here it is – buried in the carpet.

I’m putting my paws around it so you can see what size it is.

But now I have a bigger mystery. How did this strange rain get into my house?

This could be a dangerous quest. When my younger person comes home next time, I’ll have to get him to get his airsoft gun out for extra protection while I investigate.

Trail Sleeper

Somebody’s been sleeping on my trails. I don’t know who it is, but I was walking along and saw something blue off under a tree. So I immediately had to put on my Detective Dog hat and go check it out. What’s a sleeping bag doing on my trails?

Coyotes and bunnies sleep around here, but people don’t sleep here. Until now, at least. So why would someone sleep here when there are houses so close by. Even I sleep in a house – on a nice comfy bed.

Or if the sleeping bag owner likes camping, then wouldn’t it make sense to go further away from the houses? I don’t get it.

Notice I’m checking this thing out in pointer stance – after all, I am part pointer – and there were some really serious smells clues going on. I barked at that thing – and I don’t bark unless it’s important – hoping some more clues would be released, or someone would crawl out, but no luck.

Since I’m not getting anywhere here, I think I’ll head on down the trail, and keep my eyes open for a sleepwalker. I may have to guide that sleepwalking person back to bed – but not until I’ve done some interrogating and found out the rest of the story.
