Not the Toadies

08 Aug

Bongo tied on top of red rocksA couple days ago I posted about all the mischief that was done to me.

Well, I think I have to make an apology.

It’s really hard for me to apologize. I’m usually such a perfect dog that I rarely have anything to apologize for.

But I think I might have made one little mistake.

You see, I blamed the toadies for taking off with my puddle.

But upon further investigation I discovered that it might not have been those toadies at all.

And now I have a real mystery on my hands paws.

I’m going to need to wear two hats to solve this one.

Detective Dog

My Detective Dog hat.

Bongo wearing his Nature Dog hat

And my Nature Dog hat.

Somebody left behind some evidence. And it doesn’t look like those toadies took my puddle at all.

I even found that the toadies were getting into the evidence to help me investigate.

But if I’m reading the clues right, this has got to be the strangest creature I’ve ever seen.

It’s got two different kinds of feet – one foot is a paw, kind of like mine. The other is a hoof.

And to make matters more confusing, there was a smaller guy hanging around with this creature. Maybe if I find the little guy it will give me a clue about that strange creature.

The only animal around here that I know of with a hoof is a javelina.

Javelinas are strange enough on their own, but half a javelina? Now that’s really strange.

And what’s the other half? Maybe a coyote? So what is that?

A javeyote? Or maybe a coylina?

That settles it then. That little guy I’m looking for must be a jackelope.

Ku, I usually don’t like waiting for my person to take pictures, but if I ever see this creature she’d better have her camera out.

OMP (Oh my pig) Bongo! You have a true mystery on your paws. 1/2 human and 1/2 animal. WOW – We may need to call in some help from the television world. I think they could do a show on that to help you out. Good luck my friend. Please keep us posted. We need our puddles! XOXO – Bacon

Or maybe it’s the javelotelope! I’m glad it wasn’t the toadies, I kinda liked them.
I can’t wait to hear your findings, Bongo.

….unless the toads mutated and grew and had different types and sizes of feet!!! Yikes! Toad freaks. You may need a helmet, too, B.!!

Cupcake, I hadn’t thought of that. There are so many tiny toadies that I never thought it could be one of them. I’m going to have to look at them differently from now on.

Thanks BZ. And I’ll remember that tip. My person agrees. Dogs shouldn’t try to mess with those things.

Mollie and Alfie, I got part of my puddle back but I still haven’t figured out where the rest of it is. At least I know that whoever took your snow last winter didn’t drop it off here. We hardly got any.

Kevin, now you’ve got me worried. I’ve never heard of dinosaurs showing up on my trails, but who knows what creatures are lurking around in the night when nobody sees them.

Bongo, you better find out what kind of puddle-yote it was, before I’m getting all mixed up 🙂

Little Binky, I’m still working on it. I might have to take some night excursions though. Most of those creatures only come out at night when nobody’s looking.
