I can’t believe my person did that to me. The rumbles were starting up in the distance and I was getting pretty nervous. Then you know what she did? You’re not going to believe this.
She put on my anxiety vest and she left. She left me home with all that thunder – and it was getting louder.
I would have run out the door with my person but my younger person was still in the house and he grabbed me by the collar. He wouldn’t let me go until my person had gone out the door and closed it.
Then the thunder got really loud. I’m sure my person was trying to get away from it. She got in her car, so she probably drove to where that thunder couldn’t reach her.
But why didn’t she take me? It’s really not fair.
On top of that crashing thunder the rain started pounding down on the roof. I shivered and shook, all the time thinking of my person and how she’d gotten away from it without me.
Finally, everything got quiet.
And guess what. Here comes my person, driving up in her car.
Sure, person. It’s safe to come back now. The thunder’s gone. You were scared and ran off while I stuck it out here.
Next time person, you don’t need to run off. Just stick with me and I’ll protect you.
