I hope nobody missed me yesterday.

You see, I had some important things to do and I ran out of time to tell you about my latest adventures.

I had some important things to do.

Don’t Tell Bongo

This is Gizmo here.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to sneak on the computer when Bongo wasn’t looking.

And it’s about time I updated you on what’s going on around here.

You see, I’ve been elevated to the same status as the people.

Or maybe even a little higher.

.

Since I’m allowed on the couch like the people here, I thought maybe I should sit on the couch the same way they do.

Bongo is relegated to the floor, or dog jail, so I know my status here is way above his.

I don’t even know what a floor dog needs a blog for.

I may have to take it over from him permanently.

Oh wait! Here comes Bongo.

I don’t want Bongo to find out what I’m up to.

Where there’s Smoke…

Hey, how come I don’t get to go?

That’s not fair.

That big camera always wins out over me.

It’s not like I’m gonna break your camera or anything.

I won’t yank on the leash and pull you over on top of the camera.

Besides, if you fell on your camera wouldn’t it be your fault?

So what are you taking pictures of?

Smoke?

That’s not very interesting.

You should be taking pictures of me.

There’s a fire?

Where?

You can’t leave me in dog jail if there’s a fire.

What if I get stuck in here and I can’t get out?

Those cats would leave the house without me.

You know how they are.

Are you sure it’s not that close?

Okay, I’ll look at the pictures.

Yeah, I guess it is far away.

But what if it comes closer?

See, I told you this was gonna come closer.

Let me out of this dog jail and grab onto my leash!

I’ll protect you.

Oh, and leave your big camera at home.

P.S. My person says we are safe from this fire, but asks for prayer for the people who have been evacuated from their homes, and for all the firefighters who are fighting this fire. This is the Slide Fire in Oak Creek Canyon in Arizona between Sedona and Flagstaff.

Where are they?

I know they’re around here somewhere.

Maybe under here.

They must be somewhere else.

I’ll find those cats.

You know what those cats did to me?

They tied me up in dog jail.

And I was stuck there all day.

All day!

I’ll get those cats if it’s the last thing I do.

And when I find them I’m giving them what for.

They deserve every bit of it.

Those cats are nowhere to be found.

Guess I’ll take a break.

I don’t believe it.

Normally I can’t get rid of those cats.

But now that I want to find them they don’t seem to be anywhere.

I’d better get some help.

Hey person, I’m worried about those cats.

We’d better track them down.

“Hey Scratchy, what are we going to do about Bongo?”

“He’s locked up in dog jail Gizmo. I don’t think we have to do anything.”

“But what if he gets out?”

“He won’t get out. He never has yet. He couldn’t even chew his way out during a thunderstorm.”

“I’ve got a friend visiting today. What if she opens the door and lets him out?”

“Oh, yeah you’re right Gizmo. What about this rope here?”

“That rope’s too short to tie Bongo up with. But I’ve got a better idea.”

“Great idea Gizmo. That was brilliant.”

“He’ll never get out of that dog jail now, will he Scratchy?”

“Not a chance. And Bongo will finally realize that not everyone who comes here to visit is coming specifically for his benefit.”

“She’ll never be able to get Bongo out of there. She’ll probably give up before she even tries.”

“I’ll bet she won’t even notice that rope anyway because we both know she’s coming over here to see me.”

“Hey Bongo, are you having fun in there?”

Blog Theft

My person has been glued to her computer lately.

So you’d think she’d be helping me more with my blog.

I mean, what other reason would there be for her to be on the computer?

But no, I’m not sure what she’s doing.

She hasn’t even helped me answer all my friends who’ve made comments on my blog in the last few days.

And now I’m way behind.

So I hope everybody will understand.

It’s not my fault.

No person, you can’t do that!

Listen to this.

A couple days ago I was innocently napping and a cat stole my blog.

Now my person wants to steal my blog.

And she’s not even going to wait till I’m asleep.

She wants to show you what she’s been doing while she’s been glued to the computer.

She says she’s been taking a Photoshop class (whatever that is) and she’s been working on her final project.

I guess I might as well let her show it to you or I’ll never hear the end of it.

Oh alright. Go ahead.

I hope she’s done now and I can have my blog back.

I’m the new cat here.

Scratchy tries alright, but he definitely needs some help.

Cat Conspiracy

I’m trying to ignore what’s going on behind me, but it doesn’t look good.

Most of the time Gizmo and Scratchy are hanging out in different rooms of the house.

I hardly ever see them together except when my person feeds them.

And then I’m not paying much attention because I’m so busy eating.

But I’m getting really concerned right now.

It looks like a cat conspiracy to me.

They never hang out on the same couch together.

They must be planning something.

I wonder how I can get them to move without getting any claws in my face.

Never mind.

Curtailed Jumping

Doesn’t Gizmo look sweet sleeping on the bed?

Well, don’t you believe it for a minute.

It’s all a ruse – a clever disguise.

There’s nothing sweet about Gizmo.

Here’s what’s been going on.

You see, it’s my job to get my person up in the morning.

When it’s time for her to get out of bed I start jumping – right next to the bed.

And sometimes my front paws land right on the bed.

And it works.

Because I keep jumping till my person gets up.

I’m persistent that way.

She can’t ignore me like she ignores her alarm clock.

But a couple days ago Gizmo was sleeping on the end of my person’s bed when I started jumping.

And he took a big swipe at me – claws and all.

So when Gizmo’s on the bed I don’t dare jump anymore.

.

I’m taking my life in my paws if I do.

Look at him. He’s awake now.

He doesn’t look so sweet and innocent anymore, does he?

He’s probably thinking about swiping at me with those claws of his.

Hey person, I think you’d better ban Gizmo from your bed.

Otherwise, I’m taking no blame if you don’t get up on time.

Packing up the Cats

Finally!

I’ve been putting up with three cats for far too long.

Today is my big day!

Those two extra cats are getting picked up and taken back home today.

Now all I have to put up with is Scratchy.

I guess I can tolerate one cat after putting up with three cats for so long.

There they go. Locked up in the cat cage.

The house is mine again. Mine!

I can put Scratchy in his place now that he’s the only one.

You know how hard it is to put three cats in their place?

You get one taken care of and the other two run wild.

Then you get those two and the first one is at it again.

It’s gonna be so nice around here.

What?

Gizmo!

What are you still doing here?

You missed the bus. You’d better go run and catch it.

What!?

You’re staying?

Oh no!

I’m still outnumbered.

Hey person, you’ve got to get me a puppy.
